SurgiTel does not design, provide, configure, or authorize the use of consumer smart glasses (including Meta glasses) for clinical, diagnostic, or patient-care activities.
Any use of third-party smart glasses by clinicians or healthcare facilities is solely under their control and responsibility. SurgiTel does not access, store, transmit, or process patient data and does not receive protected health information (PHI) in connection with such devices.
Healthcare providers are solely responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable privacy, data protection, and patient consent requirements, including HIPAA and applicable state laws.
HIPAA obligations apply to all recording devices in clinical settings. SurgiTel’s clinical camera products are designed to support compliant use when implemented under a healthcare provider’s policies.
Customers shall not use consumer smart glasses in any manner that captures, stores, or transmits patient-identifiable information in connection with SurgiTel products unless such use is independently evaluated and approved by the customer’s compliance and legal departments.
