The California Dental Hygiene Educators’ Association is an organization committed to educating individuals who can provide quality dental hygiene care to the community with honesty, integrity and respect. The members of CDHEA strive to enhance the dental hygiene education process by providing a forum for professional growth and development.
The Director’s Meeting will be hosted on Friday, September 30th from 3:30-7:30 pm. Directors will register for the meeting during registration process.
“Night at the Rounds” will be hosted for All registered members on Friday, September 30th from 5:00-7:00 pm. (CE will not be offered for Friday Night at the Rounds.) This will be an open discussion of effective strategies and solutions for programs. Register for the Round Table topic of your choice to reserve a seat on CEZoom.
We have planned an exciting (6) unit CE session for you on Saturday from 8:30-4:00. Dr. Kenneth Yates, Professor of Clinical Education at USC Rossier School of Education will present on ”Teaching Methodology Using Cognitive Task Analysis (CTA) in Dental Hygiene Education.” Members will have the opportunity for interactive collaboration with colleagues. Additionally, we will have an update, Q/A from DHBC and conclude with our social corporate hour including hors d’oeuvres and a no host bar. Our corporate sponsors are excited to have the opportunity to say hello and give you great information on their new products and equipment.
Sunday will begin with CDHEA’s Business Meeting and an update from CDHA’s President, Heidi Coggan, RDHAP, BS. We are excited to present an informative (2 CE) presentation from West LA’s, Carmen Dones, RDH, Ed.D. and Aracely Aguiar, RDH, MBA, “Scaling Up Dental Hygiene Education: Establishing a Community College Baccalaureate Program.”
Our event will conclude with the Pam Hughes Scholarship Raffle. Every school is responsible for contributing a travel friendly basket or gift item, as voted on from the general membership in 2020. Details will be coming regarding coordination of raffle items from our host school, Carrington Sacramento!
