Dr. Marc Geissberger
The Oral Cavity Under Acid Attack: Identifying, Understanding and Treating Caries, Erosion, and Other Acid Related Diseases.
As a dentist, personal trainer and fitness nutrition specialist, Dr. Geissberger brings a unique perspective to the subjects of caries, diet and the oral environment. Through this enlightening program, Dr. Geissberger will discuss various disease conditions that plague the entire dental population, and identify several at risk populations. The importance of oral pH will be discussed and strategies for altering an unfavorable oral environment will be outlined. Additionally, the dental team will learn progressive strategies to help their patients achieve oral balance and curb their disease processes.

- Understand the difference between a balanced oral environment and one that is susceptible to disease.
- Develop strategies which can be implemented in your practice to help patients achieve oral balance.
- Develop a program for caries eradication that can be easily implemented into private practice.
- Develop strategies to begin to discuss the oral implications of poor eating strategies and provide some tips.

- How to fully diagnose loss of vertical dimension, compensatory eruption, altered passive eruption, wear, gerd, bulimia and other non-caries related dental diseases.

Dr. John Massey and Dr. Todd Stull
Opioid Education for Dentists
CE mandated by NE law for controlled substance prescribers
Dr. John Massey is a pain specialist physician specializing in the treatment of opioid use disorders and Dr. Todd Stull is a psychiatrist with a long experience of treating addictions. Together they will present an overview on opioids and opioid use disorder, including the epidemiology of substance use disorders, pain management, communication with patients, screening tools, reviewing the prescription drug monitoring program, and other relevant topics for dentists who prescribe opiates.
This training will cover the three hours of training on opioids mandated for prescribers by Neb. Rev. Stat. § 38-145(6). Participants will be able to demonstrate the following competencies upon completion of the training: – An understanding of the epidemiology of substance use disorders – Effective and safe methods of pain management – Communicating with patients about pain and opioid use disorder – Screening for substance use disorders when necessary – How to use the prescription drug monitoring program (PDMP)
