Loupes Which Adjust to You, So You Don’t Have to Adjust to Your Loupes!

The first ergonomic loupes SurgiTel created were Front-Lens-Mounted (FLM) loupes. Since then we have continually invested in and advanced this technology. Innovations like the vertical adjustment slide and stability systems have provided our users with enhanced vision and ergonomics for many years.

Why FLM loupes when Through-The-Lens (TTL) loupes are so popular? To put it simply, FLM loupes offer many unique advantages and TTL loupes are not the best fit for everyone.

Neck and upper back pain are an epidemic among clinical professionals all over the world.1 And in far too many cases, a declination angle (DA) that is too shallow is the culprit.2 And with TTL loupes your DA is locked in.

With SurgiTel’s FLM loupes, clinicians have the maximum loupe adjustability. With the most articulation, clinicians can quickly find the perfect DA for them. And if the situation changes, they can adjust again.

SurgiTel FLM loupes are often recommended by many independent ergonomic experts.3 Their maximum ergonomics can help clinicians avoid work-related pain, or in the case, one has already suffered significant pain or even injury, can alleviate working pain.

Additional benefits include having the option to “flip-up” your loupes for direct vision. Also for people with low nose bridges, FLM loupes can provide greater peripheral vision since the oculars are better positioned away from your eyes.

Beware however, not all FLM loupes are created equal. Some poorly-made loupes are heavy, difficult to use, do not adjust well, provide poor vision, and are unstable overall. Make sure your choice has sufficient adjustability and stabilized ocular mounting arms.

Have you been working with traditionally designed TTL loupes with a shallow declination angle? Are you experiencing discomfort, pain, or have even suffered a work-related neck or upper back injury? Do you want your loupes to adjust to you instead of being forced to adjust to your loupes?

Please consider SurgiTel’s FLM loupe solution.
