ErgoPractice News – June 2013

From the President

Welcome to SurgiTel’s new newsletter! We count on you to make this a 2-way dialogue:  we’ll share the best of what’s new at SurgiTel and our behind-the-scenes thinking, with stories our customers share about their practices and using our products. We’ll also talk with industry experts and learn what they have to say about best practices and new developments.

Since we proudly serve physicians, dentists, surgeons, hygienists, veterinarians, and many other specialists alike, making our products better as we listen and respond to everyone, we hope to share equally the views, opinions, and stories of a wide mix of people who have something to say about the things we are most passionate about enhancing your vision, posture, comfort, safety, and style.

We recently coined the term that headlines our newsletter, ErgoPractice™, to mean integrating SurgiTel’s ergonomically-designed portfolio of products to create a set of tools for improving your work, your life, and your health.

We hope you find the information here helpful to you and your practice. If you have a subject you’d like to learn more about, please call or write myself or any of us on the SurgiTel team, share your idea, and we’ll do our best to include it in future editions of ErgoPractice News.

I hope to hear from you soon,

B. J. Chang PhD is President and Chief Scientist of General Scientific Corporation, Ann Arbor, Michigan.

From the late 1970s to the late 1980s Dr. Chang lead the development of advanced head-up display systems for fighter jets such as F15E, A10 and F4. Over the last twenty years, he has been extending the ergonomic principles used for military display system designs to clinical vision systems. This has lead to SurgiTel’s family of ergonomic loupes and illumination systems that prevent chronic neck and back pain.

Numerous patents (awarded and pending) have been applied to the design of SurgiTel’s loupes and illumination systems.
